A serious fire at The Magazine pub in New Brighton, has forced The Bards poetry group to cancel their regular open-mic evening on Monday, 10^th May. And, because of the length of time the repairs are likely to take, June and July’s events have had to be cancelled too.

Established three-and-a-half years ago, The Bards group prides itself on never having cancelled a night, but unable to find another suitable venue at short notice, founder Steve Regan has had to announce a summer break.

They hope to be back in August, but in the meantime there are several other events in the Wirral area to choose from. You can find details of those, and further information about The Bards on our gig guide
