The etiquette we are taught to imbibe

All in the hopes to assimilate

The postures we were trained to uphold

All in hopes to conform

 

I will speak of the intellectuals that woo us with their lips

I will talk of beauties that entice us with their looks

I will utter of the world’s invincible, whose strength is meant to delude us

I will tell of the wealthy, whose trust is in riches
