Some 20 little steps away

The Night we sleep and the day goes by
Until the next dawn
Nature is what we all have
The mighty sun, the gleamy moon
The shimmering light of the thousands stars
Oh all we see is our mother
Nurturing us with a touch
So intangible
No art can express.
Oh I wish I was still there
When I was too young to know
Creeping down the ground
Gazing all what was around
With a mysterious smile
The unknown rituals
Seeking the warmth of her presence
By wondering who is she
I sleep in her arms.
Birds chirping I found myself awake
Years passed by and it was raining
With a second thought of not going to school
I flew in the backyard under the shade supported by two wooden post
I felt the bare ground it was cold.
Water running off the canopy,
Caressing the ground filling the space in between,
streaming away to the pit nearby,
Some 20 little steps away.
I was listening carefully to all what was there.
So still - with a deep breath I shook in,
Ran off to get my old notebook.
The day went by leaving me here,
With some glimpse of it.
A heritage is where we dwell,
Get nurtured and grow in harmony with surrounding.
I wonder,
In quest of urbanisation-
So modern that we have forgotten the legacy
which has been posted onto us.
Species which are endangered,
Species which existed.
Water bodies that is drying off,
Creatures so wild that would cheer us apart are put into cages.
So that we could see them in our context.
They are also born out of the same nature.
In which we dwell,
And they all have same value of life as we have.
We are taking all for granted,
Trying to put a conditioning which is favourable to us.
All is that we are lost in our survival issues considering them to be impotent.
We are seeking balance without them which is not possible.
We are busy making theories and can't feel life passing by,
If it is all about people, then Mother Nature is for the people, of the people, never by the people.
We the most intelligent species.
I will ask, What is our heritage?
