I started writing poetry from around 8 yrs old and have more or less continued in a haphazard way..experiencing periods where nothing flows to being in the midst of an avalanche of words and thoughts. Life's been funny recently and now I think I'm ready to share...
Benched I think it should've been you. Your picture flashed up on my screen and I realised you were telling me that, all those years ago through your smiles. And I wish I could have loved you back, sat on a bench watching the Thames flow. Changing Room The anticipation builds as I wait for you to don the 'Interview jacket'. Sweat starts to gather on my top lip and my heartbeat increases tenfold. Can a person be any more becoming in a collared shirt? Bim Some people have Church - I have Barbados. The sight of the island's curves stretching out its welcome before me through the oval-shaped window soothes. The cool March breeze lifts my soul and lets it fly. My childhood friends hide in the shadow of my Aunt's mango tree, excited by the arrival of spring. And my return.
