Donations are essential to keep Write Out Loud going

Morton Arms Cash Prize- £20 to be won

This bank holiday Monday 8pm at Morton Arms Live.

I will blog more on the event later today.

The cool announcement though is this;

We will now have a £20 cash prize that can be won by any open mic poet. If you join us and read-

YOU could be the winner!

We will ask the winner if they wish to add their poem to our facebook page as a semi or permanent record of the achievement.

It is not your typical competition because neither myself nor the other organisers will pick a winner.

We also wont have in-house potentially bias judging- nope :)

We will select 3 members of our audience at random and they will come to a decision as to what they liked the most on the night.

So then a fun addition to the night, a favoured/notable poem rather than any idea of objective 'best'. Utterly unbias in terms of us as organisers and....

Well £20 that YOU could win for one of your poems.

Like I said I will blog the event later today.

WOLers are most welcome at Morton.

P.S

This is a one off statment in discussions...I just thought you guys and gals might want to know of this pretty cool change to our event.

Last month Jason Thomas Richardson's The Fall Of The House Of Twee won notable poem of the month- Jason was awarded £20. His poem can be found via our facebook notes.

Morton Arms Live (on facebook)

This coming month another open mic poet will win a £20 prize for one of their poems.

If you join us as an open mic poet...you might come away a £20 richer and with a nice accolade and your poem placed on our site.

We also provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
A quality Guest Poet and a quality Guest Musician...free food during the interval and a raffle.

Any open mic poet coming from afar will be afforded due consideration. We will ask you where you would like to read in terms of the night to ease your travelling concerns...and you WILL be afforded a good time to read.

See you soon.

Chris
