Gemma Lees

I see that Gemma is no longer running WOL events in north Manchester. Over my time attending and reading at events on the local poetry scene, some of Gemma's events have provided some of the strongest memories. It's not easy to commit to run these regular events so I would like to say a big thank you to Gemma for putting so much energy into doing just that. I wish I could have attended more.

I am sure everyone who uses the resources of WOL will second my thoughts.

Gemma is not disappearing however so watch out for her own events which I am sure will be run to the same high standard.

speaking as a person who has ran his own nights, and co ran plenty with Jeffarama! / Jeff, it's a difficult thing and sometimes unrewarding, but for Gemma to pretty keep it going for 5 years (excluding time off her son!), it's a amazing achievement and while I am sorry to see her leave Middleton, I know she's going to carry on with stuff so wish her good luck, and thanks for my own personal memories at Middleton (Have loads).

I think I've only been there once because it was a bit of a journey for me - but I do remember the warm welcome and the cakes! The cakes were delicious!

Best wishes to Gemma in her new ventures.
