Lovers flaunt their new discovery
beheld in the other's reflection
putting on show their treasured hearts
kissing aloneness away

lovers spend the greatest of hours
oiling their curious springs

I am the wind

I am the world warmed,
thanking the dawn after a long
visionless night,
I am that rejoicing bird
flying over your grave.
I am the sun,
setting above the black valleys
from where I rose - the lightness
you couldn't hold,
you were the darkness exposed.
