Did my parents leave me on a hillside to die?
By chance a caring mother followed her instincts and found me alive
Sent to a hospital with nothing but a basket and marks on my wrist from where I had been bound
A national appeal to find my parents came to no avail
Instead a kind family gave me a chance of a new life
Already struck by tragedy, I was their second chance

Thoughts
Thoughts. Flying, crashing, whirling, around in my head
Nothing to do but think.
What have I done? What haven’t I done?
Where am I going? Where will I end up?
The world is a harsh place for those who don’t play the game.
‘Smile, stride with confidence and take what is yours.’
What if I do and my hands end up empty?
The average lifespan is around 80
Yet at the mere age of 18 I feel old...
