One Eye Open
And she stood at the top of the staircase
Looking down the perilous steps.
Looking down the fragile railing
She saw where she had been
As she rested at the top
Saving breath for her next climb

Crash
Collision at odds with marble and steel
Quite telling of spaces that never seemed real
Hides around corners and waits for the chance

Let Me Out
Let me out before dark
Let me out.

See me try.
Let me out, let me rise
See me flying.
See me crying.
I'll be flying,
Let me out

Strangers note the time change
With the wrinkles on their mind
That creep out through their deep blue eyes
Upon sidewalks you might find.
The stream sweetens simple scenery
Their chats mix a mellow melt
Her smile sings of surrender
While his touch is barely felt.
