Future Exiles: Poetry, Activism and the Future

Yoko Ono has long used poetry and song to send strong messages about social and political causes, and to speak about how the future might look without activist intervention. Yoko has closely followed the explosion of poets who are making their voices heard across organised protests, impromptu performance and samizdat publications (censored publications reproduced by hand and passed from reader to reader).

This reading brings together UK poets and performers who have been vocal in expressing their rage against political and environmental landscapes. Hosted by Chris McCabe, readers include Iain Sinclair, Mark Burnhope, Sarah Crewe, Sophie Mayer, Niall McDevitt, Melanie Challenger and Sascha Aurora Akhtar.
