Petersfield Write Angle evenings combine a famous (mostly nationally & internationally renowned) Guest Performer – Plus the popular OPEN MIC which is there for YOU to get up and sing, play guitar, read your poetry or improvise theatre as well as comedy! And because our Open Mic is for everyone, we've had performers from 'first timers' to surprise guests, to 'professionals trying out new work'! Our aim - to bring you the best entertainment - make your evenings as enjoyable and memorable as possible – And, we video each performer so you may get a Youtube of your performance – for free! (good for sending to friends & family and even building your own potential career).
OUR PERFORMERS include Internationally Renowned Poets , Comedian/Poets , Singers, Dancers, and Musicians who have appeared in theatres,cabarets, festivals, on TV & radio. Most have written books. Performers range from highly humorous to amazingly clever, to poignant to serious, to the 'cutting-edge', and all are Unique - so every month brings a different experience. (Btw, they get paid. We do this for the 'sake of art')
We've played to packed houses (all ages) and the responses we get keep us Going and Growing! Praise and appreciation from professional performers, audiences ( 'first timers' & 'regulars'). with Everyone saying it's a great venue and they love it!. It's 'warm, friendly and encouraging'. Audiences are amazed at the High Quality of Talent. One critic came 'just to check us out'. He was shocked at the energy and talent, and ended up reviewing us for the newspapers, calling us 'The Hidden Gem Behind The Pub'.
People come back time and time again. Audiences leave in hysterics – sometimes, they don't even want to leave! We promise it will give you a whole new 'angle' on the word poetry! - and we must be doing something right since we've been going strong for over 5 years now! Twice, we won 'Highly commended' in 'Life in Petersfield's Business and Community Awards for Arts/Entertainment'.
There's also a monthly raffle for you to win a free meal for two at different local excellent restaurants.

Write Angle is pleased and proud to have Poets Anna-May Laugher and Susan Utting as our 'Poetical Guests' for Tuesday 21 May.
Anna-May's headlined twice before – both times her warmth, clever wit and quality of poetry led to very highly successful evenings! We have no doubt this will be another 'great one'!
Susan Utting's "poems are musical, magical and have a clarity which goes straight to the heart."
