Give a penny, take a penny! Spend a penny?
3MT's poetry night is back - and it is with a heavy heart and a jealous soul that we wave goodbye to the lovely Carly Bennett as she begins her career teaching in Barcelona. Taking over is Ruth Clemens (me) as host and organiser, and of course the inimitable Alex Klineberg will remain as the evening's compère.
We will have a great line-up for you, performing poetry, prose, and even a little music. Slots are short - five minutes - and new acts are always welcomed. As always this night is aimed at first-time performers, come along and check it out!
For this event we will be asking for a suggested donation of 99p, so we can help towards some drinks for the performers.
If you would like to perform, whack me a message on my Facebook page (we should have an email account set up sooner or later). The theme is 'Poetry is Penniless', but you don't have to stick to this if you don't want to. Also, Carly hasn't given me the 'mailing list' of all you regulars yet, so if you see this event and are really offended that I haven't invited you, don't be. It's Carly's incompetence :)
Another announcement: From March's onwards this night has a name! It will be known as (drumroll please)... Wordology! We'd love to know what you think of it :) And there may be a few more changes to the night so watch this space...
Hope to see you all there! Unfortunately I won't be able to make it on the night due to prior arrangements (I'll be on a train heading up from London), but Alex will look after you nicely. (I might be able to make it later for a drink or two.)

This event is not running.
I have sent 2 emails to the organiser, the first was answered, saying that she would remove the ad. The 2nd, sent months later has had no reply.
I was in the venue on Wednesday, talking to staff who told me that they have no current regular spoken word events booked, & none expected until 2014. I was told that the organisers would be contacted & asked to remove the ad, but obviously, it's still here. So if you see any more advertised for Afflecs Palace, Oldham St. Manchester, prior to 2014 they're likely to be defunct too.
