In a year that sees Jamaica, Trinidad, Algeria and several other nations celebrate 50 years of independent rule, April's London Liming explores the theme of independence! through personal, cultural and political perspectives from 'the people's Poet Laureate John Hegley, influential British-Trinidadian writer and poet Roger Robinson, 'Indiana Jones and the Extra Chair' creator Simon MOle, guitar virtuoso James Ingham and other guests. Liming patron John Agard will join regular host Melanie Abrahams to preside over what promises to be a fantastic night of speech, poetry and exchange.
We'd also like extend a special welcome to the bill to rising star of the London poetry scene Hannah Lowe. She will be replacing Jean 'Binta' Breeze who is unable to perform due to unforeseen circumstances.
