Open Mic Event
The poetry scene is generally a welcoming one, but tonight’s venue is a small open plan room that allows everyone to feel part of the event and while anyone is invited to read you are accepted just as easily as a listener. Those who do read and there are a lot are put at ease instantly by the ever attentive Dominic Berry and clapped just as much as the established names.
Poets Get Mashed is a regular event at various venues around the city and is a taster of what the thriving Manchester poetry scene has to offer. If you are a budding writer or simply just enjoy the arts then this is an event for you.'
Tonight's open mic (1st come, 1st on, 4 minutes max each (that usually means a couple of poems) folk can read their own work or poems by other people) features special guest ANGELA SMITH, reading work from her debut poetry collection- 'This is the Me I Would Be if I Dared'.
