Alison Croggon, born in South Africa and brought up in Australia, is a theatre critic and fantasy writer as well as a startlingly original poet;
US-born Australian Emily Ballou recently published 'The Darwin Poems', using poetry to bring the legend to life in the bicentenary of his birth.
