Poetry On Loan. A squad of Heaventree poets – Martin Brown, Antony Owen and Barry Patterson – assist Coventry Libraries in relaunching the Poetry On Loan scheme with a series of guerrilla readings in libraries around the city: Earlsdon, 12:00pm; Foleshill Library, 1:00pm; Central Library, 2:00pm.
Barry Patterson is a writer & performer living in Coventry whose poetry explores our relationship with the Land through the special places in which we find ourselves: the places where we live, work & celebrate. His pamphlet of poetry, Nature Mystic, was published by Heaventree Press in 2008.
Coventry kid Martin Brown is co-author (along with illustrator Sam Baxter) of A Thousand Scary Cabbages and Other Curiosities, an illustrated book of poems for “children of all ages” available at quality outlets in Coventry, Rugby, and Birmingham. He has also acquired a wide range of fans through his contributions to the Coventry Telegraph Daily Poem slot. Martin attributes his good looks and glowing complexion to a steady diet of stewed cabbage, cabbage stew, and cabbage soup...
