Fire & Dust is a poetry open mic event that happens every first Thursday of the month in Cafe Morso, Coventry (UK). Most gigs feature a headline set from a guest poet, and the rest of the night is a spoken word open mic. All welcome - page poets, performance poets, slammers, rappers, poetic story-tellers, and anyone happy to listen to some poetry. Bring poems, bring friends, or just bring yourself along to enjoy!
Open mic slots available. For a guaranteed slot, register for a ticket via Eventbrite; otherwise, you can request to sign up on arrival. HEADLINER: AMY RUGG
Amy Rugg is a writer, poet, collector of stories, teller of tall tales and a valued member of the Fire&Dust community. Poetry, both her own and by others, is the fresh air that keeps her going and she is inspired by listening to a wide variety of other artists. Being a dual citizen of the US/UK, Amy enjoys writing and performing from the unique perspective of a relative outsider. A champion of Coventry, Amy takes inspiration from family, nature, history, and working life. She enjoys experimenting with the threshold of poetry and prose and her first published poem was featured recently in the recent 'Spirit of Fire & Dust' anthology published by Allographic.
Time: 7:30pm (7.30pm for sign-up. Gig starts 8pm.)
