WORD CENTRAL Open Mic Poetry and Spoken Word hosted by Tony Curry.
Presented by Flapjack Press & Manchester Libraries.
A FREE event every month at Manchester Central Library, St Peter's Square, Manchester M2 5PD.

Next event: Tues 22nd March, 6.00pm (doors 5.40pm) with special guest Mantz Yorke.

Mantz Yorke trained as a scientist, gaining a degree in industrial metallurgy before taking up a career in teaching. Later, he switched to educational research. Now retired, he has been able to spend more time writing poetry that reflects his interest in science and human behaviour as well as his enjoyment of, and concern for, the natural environment. His poems have been published widely, both in the UK and internationally, and his collections Voyager and Dark Matters are published by Dempsey & Windle.

N.B. Open mic slots are 3 minutes per performer. Performance slots are allocated on a 'first come first served' basis from the stated booking day. If they are already filled you will be offered a space on the reserve list.
