#LIVEwire Manchester
Luke Wright,
Louise Fazackerley- Poet
and Kirsty Taylor,
hosted by Toria Garbutt Poet.

Nymphs & Thugs are the UK's leading spoken word record label. Since forming in 2015, they've become home to Louise Fazackerley, Matt Abbott, Toria Garbutt Poet, Salena Godden, Kevin P. Gilday - Writer & Spoken Word Artist and Luke Wright. Their #LIVEwire events are rapidly developing a reputation as one of the most electric nights on the scene.

Their new series of #LIVEwire events include four regional dates around England - Manchester (20 Sep), Bristol (13 Nov), Birmingham (22 Feb), Colchester (29 Apr) - as well as four resident nights at Hyde Park Book Club in Leeds. Each event will feature a unique line-up, with at least one N&T artist on the bill.

The first of the regional events pulls no punches, with globally renowned poet Luke Wright supported by acclaimed festival star Louise Fazackerley and Bradford-born poet and playwright Kirsty Taylor. The night will be hosted by N&T founding owner Matt Abbott.

LUKE WRIGHT

One of the UK's best-loved poets, and a multi-award winning theatre maker and broadcaster. Having performed all over the world, Luke constantly gigs the UK's theatres and rock venues. His debut play 'What I Learned From Johnny Bevan' won a string of incredible awards, and his latest show 'Luke Wright, Poet Laureate' is currently on tour. His album 'Twenty' was released by N&T on 2LP gatefold vinyl earlier this year, to mark 20 years on stage for Luke.

LOUISE FAZACKERLEY

Louise Fazackerley was the first artist to sign to N&T. She performs in theatres and at festivals around the UK for audience members of all ages. Her double album 'Council House Poetry' contains 'Bird St.' and also 'Love Is A Battlefield', which was the result of a BBC Radio 3 'New Voices' commission from The Verb.

KIRSTY TAYLOR

Bradford-born wordsmith Kirsty Taylor never ceases to amaze audiences with her unique and engaging style. A favourite at N&T #LIVEwire events, she too was commissioned by BBC Radio 3's 'New Voices' project last year. A poet, a playwright and an electric entertainer.

TORIA GARBUTT

Hailing from a deprived ex-mining town in West Yorkshire, Toria has been supporting John Cooper Clarke both at home and abroad since spring 2016. Her spoken word album 'Hot Plastic Moon' was released on Nymphs & Thugs around the same time.

Her debut collection 'The Universe and Me' was published by Wrecking Ball Press in 2018 and she was featured in a The Guardian article on "the new of the new poets" earlier this year.
