A Poem and a Pint

This event on 23rd February 2019 at 19:30 has past.

Contact: antonychristie@aol.com

An evening of poetry and music featuring local poet Kate Davis who will move you to tears and laughter with her performance of her first collection, The Girl Who Forgets How to Walk. Kate was diagnosed with polio at the age of four and her poems exploit the music of language and a variety of poetic forms to explore her illness and how it changes her relationship with even the landscape within which she lives. She makes forays into archaeology, taxidermy and geology as she learns to distrust even the limestone which underpins her world. She will be supported by poems from the Poem and a Pint Committee, the music from the duo Sarsaparilla, a heady mix of classic covers and original compositions, and the inimitable M/Cing of Ross Baxter on his annual February visit from the wilds of Blawith.

Price: £6.00. (£6.00 (concessions £5.00))
