We are thrilled to bits to welcome Keith Hutson as our May headliner at Rhubarb, fresh from touring with UK poet laureate Carol Ann Duffy. Keith's poetry is delightful and deservedly award-winning. Come along to find out why!

As well as a reading from Keith, we will have our usual poetry and prose open mic. Email us at rhubarbspokenword@gmail.com or wave at us on the night if you'd like to book a slot.

Keith Hutson has written for Coronation Street and many well-known comedians. His poetry has been in many UK and international journals, including The North, The Rialto, Manhattan Review and Stand. He has had several competition successes, including The Yorkshire Prize, The Troubadour, The Mclellan, and this year he was longlisted in The National Poetry Competition.

Keith's debut pamphlet, Routines, was published in 2016 by Poetry Salzburg where he is now on the editorial board. Troupers (*smith doorstop) is a 2018 Laureate's Choice pamphlet. In 2017, Keith read as Carol Ann Duffy's special guest at the RSL TS Eliot Memorial event, and he now tours extensively with her. In February 2019, Bloodaxe are publishing Keith's debut full collection, Baldwin's Catholic Geese. He lives in Halifax West Yorkshire where he is poet-in-residence and tutor at the Square Chapel Theatre.
