Wordlife are one of the leading literature organisations in the country. Based in Yorkshire, they present a one off show at the Roundhouse with a headline full length show from one of the leading figures in the northern spoken word scene and a stellar support list of the leading poets in the UK.

**Gevi Carver & The Unsung**

You’ve heard of Kurt Cobain. You’ve heard of Jim Morrison. But have you heard of Scott Johnson, or Lina Prokofiev? The Unsung is a raucous funeral party for the dead musicians you've never heard of. A journey in spoken word and music from Sheffield poet Genevieve Carver and her live band Sarah Sharp, Tim Knowles and Brian Bestall, The Unsung takes you on a whirlwind tour around the world exploring how music has shattered the lives of those who’ve loved it most.

**Deanna Rodger**

Deanna is an international performer and facilitator. One of the curator's of London spoken word nights 'Chill Pill' and 'Come Rhyme With Me' she was Recently featured as one of ELLE UK’s ’30 inspirational women under 30′, The Female Lead’s ’20intheir20s’ and Cosmopolitan’s ‘No.1 trailblazing woman’, she is a former UK Poetry Slam Champion and has written and performed her poetry in many countries and in many forms, from ensemble performance 2012 Olympic Team Welcoming Ceremonies (NYT) to digital collaboration with BBC Mixital.

**Kayombo Chingonyi**

Kayo Chingonyi is a fellow of the Complete Works programme for diversity and quality in British Poetry and the author of two pamphlets, Some Bright Elegance (Salt, 2012) and The Colour of James Brown’s Scream (Akashic, 2016). His first full-length collection, Kumukanda, was published in June 2017 by Chatto & Windus. He was awarded the Geoffrey Dearmer Prize and shortlisted for the inaugural Brunel University African Poetry Prize and has completed residencies with Kingston University, Cove Park, First Story, The Nuffield Council on Bioethics, and Royal Holloway University of London in partnership with Counterpoints Arts.

**Alabaster Deplume**

His fluid live music and poetry performance reassures with behaviour and sound while it challenges with thoughts and words. With two recent viral clips shared close to a thousand times, the show delivers a distinct political philosophy through hilarious and provocative honesty.

**Matt Abbott**

Matt Abbott is a politically active spoken word artist from Wakefield. In 2016, he shared a stage with the likes of Paul Weller, Ken Loach, Sleaford Mods, Sara Pascoe and Francesca Martinez, and starred in a national TV ad campaign for Nationwide Building Society. Co-founder of A Firm Of Poets and founding owner of spoken word record label Nymphs & Thugs, he is a rising star on the UK's flourishing spoken word scene.
