Go river-diving with Sean O'Brien.

Love, death, history, politics and the imagination are all contained in the river. We’ll consider a wide range of examples in poetry, ballad and song, including Auden, Jane Draycott, Nick Drake, T.S. Eliot and Stevie Smith. We’ll read and write river poems and then discuss participants’ work in an intensive workshop session. Bring yourself and a pen and let’s see where we end up.

One-day workshop from 10:30am to 4:30pm. There will a lunch break and tea breaks during the day. Lunch is not provided. Students are welcome to bring their own, or to visit the local shops and cafes during the break.
