Calling all literary Mancunians! In collaboration with the Portico Library and other local poetry presses, Carcanet are setting up a series of literary salons called Poetry at the Portico and bringing talented poets from as far away as Dublin, Canada and New Zealand to read in the Rainy City. Join us on Thursday 25th June for poetry readings by John Redmond & Tim Liardet.

John Redmond was born in Dublin and is a Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing at the University of Liverpool. He has published two Carcanet collections and numerous critical studies on poetry.

Tim Liardet has published seven full collections of poetry. The Blood Chair, his fifth collection, was a Poetry Book Society Recommendation for Summer 2006 and shortlisted for the 2006 T.S. Eliot Prize. He is Professor of Poetry at Bath Spa University. His latest collection is The World Before Snow.
