“To share one’s story is a basic human right.” Come support the mission of the Afghan Women’s Writing Project (AWWP) by joining host Saghar Leslie Naghib in celebrating the lived experiences of Afghan women by reading their poetry aloud on the stage at Le Chat Noir. The published poems of Afghan women capture ongoing conflicts, emotions and experiences that are either unknown or misperceived. You are invited to read one of the AWWP’s poems and/or lend your encouragement by writing a response to one of the poets with the old-fashioned method of writing a hand-written note. All responses will be mailed back to the poets.
