Here's the deal - Rich provides a great venue in a cosy friendly pub and you provide the poems and the listening ears.

You get five minutes to read your poem(s) - you sign up between 7.30 at 8.00 and then we start. Everyone is listened to and loved - Dónall our genial host will make sure of that - and everyone, however professional, amateur, beginner, or seasoned performer, is welcome.

We have a great time listening and reading and then we have another great time being serenaded by those Dirty Carols who are bringing down the house all over Guildford at the moment.

Louise Etheridge, Rachel Broughton, Elizabeth Molineux and Lorna Bannister are the Dirty Carols, four Surrey girls with a bone to pick with many of our everyday amenities and the everyday problems of the modern woman. Department stores, “cupping” and bus companies are just three of the issues they have dealt with in their verses of sophisticated smut and rational rants, all set to favourite tunes and sung in close harmony in the voices of angels. They have lots of new songs ready for this Christmas Special!

Hosted by Donall Dempsey, email 1000monkeysguildford@gmail.com for more details or why not check out www.the1000monkeys.com We'd love to see you there!
