November's Beatnik Boulevard sees guest poets from Gloucestershire and Oxford gracing the Beatnik microphone as we welcome Adam Horovitz as Guest Poet and Lucy Ayrton as Featured Reader. Joining them will be an array of poetic talent performing in the open-mic slots and the evening is hosted by Bob Hill Poet and Author.

Entry is a mere £1.00 payable on the door and open-mic poets can sign up for a four minute slot from 7.30pm to 8.30pm with the show starting at 8.30pm.

Adam Horovitz is a poet based in Stroud, Gloucestershire. He has published two pamphlets and his debut collection, Turning, was published by Headland in 2011. He has had poems published in numerous magazines and anthologies, and has read at festivals from the Cheltenham Festival of Literature to the 1996 Days of Poetry and Wine festival in Slovenia. He was poet in residence for the Borkowski PR company's website from 2005 to 2007 and for Glastonbury Festival's official website in 2009. In 2010, he was voted onto the Hospital Club 100, a list sponsored by The Independent, and he was awarded a Hawthornden Fellowship in 2012. His memoir of growing up in the Slad Valley, A Thousand Laurie Lees, was published in June 2014 by the History Press. To support his poetry, he has worked as a barman, sheep dipper, arts editor, ghostwriter, voiceover artist and journalist.

About Lucy Ayrton;
Feminism, Fables and Fairly Tenuous Lists
I write performance story-poetry. I am currently working on a second solo poetry show, The Splitting of the Mermaid, an exploration of the female body and transformation. My first show, Lullabies to Make Your Children Cry, ran for two weeks at the Edinburgh festival fringe in 2012, where I was Best Newcomer on the PBH Spoken Word Free Fringe. The show went on to be made into a pamphlet, published by Stewed Rhubarb and available here.
I have performed at Glastonbury, Standon Calling, Chipping Norton Literary Festival, Wantage Literary Festival, Secret Garden Party and Stoke Newington Literary Festival. My teaching work includes guest lecturing at Bath University, poetry performance workshops in Oxford and poetry writing workshops at Standon Calling, Fieldview Festival, and Festibelly. I frequently host cabaret nights and poetry slams, and co-hosted Oxford's Hammer and Tongue slam for two years.
