Singapore's leading poet, Kirpal Singh, reads from his work alongside Ivy Alvarez. Kirpal Singh is a poet, fiction writer and cultural critic, who teaches creative writing in Singapore and is an internationally recognised scholar. His was the first Asian Director for the Commonwealth Writers' Prize and for many years served as Chair of the Singapore Writers' Festival.
Ivy Alvarez tonight celebrates the release of her latest collection, Disturbance (Seren, 2013). A recipient of writing residencies from MacDowell Colony, Hawthornden Castle and Fundación Valparaiso, her work appears in journals and anthologies in many countries and online, with several poems translated into Russian, Spanish, Japanese and Korean.
