I attended the Fourth Friday event for October and it was a brilliant evening. There was an Open Mic to start with, the singer sonwriter Leon Rosselson sang a few songs, very up to date and topical protest songs. Then there were a couple of guest poets, then more from Leon. The event is in the basement, but on the ground floor there is a very friendly cafe, with good wholesome food and a relaxed atmosphere. No pressure to eat up and be off. A lovely spot to retreat to from the hurley burley of Holborn and Tottenham Court Road. Up above is the Poetry Society open during the weekday, but it was Friday evening and Hylda was in charge. I can recommend this as an event. It is so down to earth I felt I was back in the North.
