OpenMind Halloween Special

This event on 26th October 2011 has past.

Open Mic Event

OpenMind Halloween Special is here, and since Indigo is such a big manchild, there'll be discounts on the door for people in fancy dress, and there'll also be a £20 cash prize for the best outfit as well as some other great offers*

*We'll be continuing our discount for group bookings. Groups of 5 or more can have one member of their party in for free, and two people free for a group of 10 or more. Rameeza Mehmud took advantage of this offer last month and we predict it being a popular edition to our discounts and offers.

*Meshach Brencher has earned free entry as members get free entry on every 5th show they attend, so please take advantage of our member offers/rewards.

We'll be returning with the live stream at www.openmindcollective.org.uk/index.php/live-stream/ and as part of our new format there'll be a free pre-show stream at 6:30pm till 7pm for our national/international audience outside of Manchester.

Contact P.R. McDowell or post on our Facebook wall (www.facebook.com/OpenMind) to take part in the OpenSpace, our regular section where artists get 5 minutes to express themselves.

Our headliner is Gemma Connell, a fantastic dancer and the artistic director of Broken Rose Performing Arts (www.brokenrose.eu/), the creator of new dance/poetry fusion night Flow (http://contactmcr.com/whats-on/987-mlf11-flow/) and trainee producer at the Manchester International Festival. She'll be sharing her original theatre piece bitten which examines the impact of vampires in contemporary culture.

"Raven's always felt drawn to people. But not necessarily for their personal qualities. Strangely, she still agrees that "it's what's inside that counts." Join Broken Rose Performing Arts in this short piece of theatre which explores the story of a young girl who finds herself with a rather unorthodox craving... and then dedicates her life to finding out why."

Francesca Smith will be playing the role of Raven.
Written and Directed by Gemma Connell.
