GUEST POET SYLVIE RUSHFORD
Sylvie hopes her poetry reflects that she is a Libran who enjoys balance and exploration of "both sides'' of life!
She does not feel extreme; not main stream, nor vastly alternative, but enjoys the middle way!
She was born in Nottingham, the middle of seven children. When in hospital at age three, her mother taught her to read and she became the youngest library -card holder in her village, commencing a life-long love of words!
Sylvie has known life both in poverty and extreme wealth in many countries, with two long marriages, two very different daughters, two very different careers. She has two names as a poet and a designer, and though raised C of E, has been a practicing Buddhist for 26 years. For 30 years Sylvie dived as a volunteer for the Marine Conservation Society in Western Scotland, Western Ireland, Isles of Scilly and Lundy island.
She is rarely without pen and paper, but has not published her poetry, through laziness, just enjoying the 'process', and being unsure about the concept of 'legacy' (to be explored in future poetry)!
Lest lack of credentials should make her a fraud and a charlatan, Sylvie will present " Attachment": a poetic drama with a little audience participation.
Entry: Free donations weklcome
