Your samples are the best of your work I have seen so far. I somehow missed them.
Have you just added them?

Hey Brian, that was great.
In particular the verse on WESTONBIRT ARBORETUM.
I could really visualize those middle-class wankers with their fancy-named spoilt kids.
Keep it coming !

The Joys of Doing a Jigsaw
You'll notice that this poem doesn't rhyme.
The jigsaw nearly drove me crackers. Xmas pun intended.

Hi Brian
I'm truly flattered if/when anyone takes the time to comment on something I've written.
So thanks.
I'm a big believer that if I write a poem that rhymes, it should also have a rhythm. I also find that it makes it more suitable for reciting.
Again, thanks for your interest

Hello Brian - I commented on your "First" blog yesterday
(Saturday) afternoon but now it seems my wit has not been
appreciated on WOL and is nowhere to be seen.
Humour is not always a laughing matter, it seems.

thanks for the comments on 'a poppy in winter' Brian - I do think the amount of poppy colours is getting a little silly - but the red is for remembrance and the white is for peace and the rest is for personal choice - the very thing that was fought for - so I'm OK with it - better to remember something than nothing at all

Gosh! Brian you're a dumping
A dumping hole for comments
Have you dug hole deep enough?
(My verse it does make no sense)
I came here looking for
Some gem to take away
But stumbled on these comments
I bloody lost my way
What more can I say? ....
Well....
I have been sidetracked nicely
I should be pulling weeds
Or getting off the carpets
Vacuum cleaner feed
Gotta stop Brian ๐

Thank you for your comments on 'Role Reversal' Brian. I wrote this several years ago after watching something about young carers on Tv. I caught something on TV last week about young carers and it reminded me of the poem so I felt I would share it.

Hi Brian,
Thank you for the comments on 'Total Tosser' - very much appreciated. I'm glad the inclusion of the c-word didn't break your chilled time on holiday. Hope ou had a great time in Holland. Did you work on the poem 'Holiday in Holland'? - it definitely cries out to have something written, though I understand that what happens in Holland often stays firmly in Holland.
Sorry for the slow reply.
Matthew

Cheers for the comment Brian. I think I was the generation between CB radios and Chatrooms, but the need to broadcast your life to the entire world has always puzzled me (my FB account is a wasteland). Maybe the need for Drama to justify your existence isn't a new thing, it's just more visible.
I really appreciate you taking the time to read it, though. Much appreciated.
