Marianne I have only just read your profile with keen interest.
First of all if you have the craving to write -- just write. Let your voice be heard, irrespective of people's response to it.
Never let another person's judgement of your work affect you. Having said that WOL is a wonderful site with established poets who are both supportive and encouraging. So you're in good company.
You seem to have an inquiring, restless mind and that's a good thing. So bring it all out.
May I also humbly add that with every poem you need to have a "big idea' and then express them through engaging words.
C'mon let have the first one!

Just read you profile Marianne. My advice for someone starting out in poetry would be this.
Make every word mean something. There are lots of words that fill in gaps but don't actually say much themselves. Make every word count.
