My theme is feminism and social justice, here are some examples below: Sonnet "Chained Silence" Her footsteps echo in the quiet night, The shadows watch, the world's a silent threat, Each glance a weight, a flicker of the fight That never ends, a fear she can't forget. A touch, unasked, a whisper in the air, She wears her caution like a second skin, For every corner hides a danger there, A world that sees her as a place to win. She lives in chains of fear that none can see, The world's a cage, her safety in retreat, As men parade their power, wild and free, And she, just one, must guard her heart and feet. Yet still, she fights, though broken by the strain, For every woman's voice must break this chain. Anagram "Woven Anew" Women Own me. Me now. New omen. One me. Woven. Empower — Peer more, Mere power, We rep more, Rome weep. More we. Equality — Quit ye alibi, Lay quiet, I — A lit equity, I quite ally. Yet I quail, Yet I rally. Woven anew, We name now: Power, equality, A quiet roar Made loud. Sonnet "The Fight Was Never Done" We burned the old rules down, we lit the street, Cracked ceilings wide with voices sharp as knives. We learned to stand, to march with blistered feet, We carved new futures out of stolen lives. We got the vote, the right to work, to speak, Built louder dreams from what was torn away. We made the strong from what they called the weak— We didn't blink. We changed the game they play. But now the fire flickers in the smoke, Soft victories have lulled us into sleep. The hashtags fade, the pretty slogans choke, And rights we bled for slip into the deep. Wake up, stand up - the fight was never done. We owe the future more than what we've won. Haiku "Still Standing" Built this world in heels. He built walls with tiny tweets. Guess who's still standing?
