The Lonely Art To travel is a lonely art, No rewards to hold dear, Just trinkets and a photograph, Memories can be clear, To travel can take many forms, A trip around the park, Or journey round a foreign land, Walk New York in the dark, To travel can leave much to find, About your loves and fear, Philosophies about your mind, It may just bring on tears, Travel, what has it taught to me? Pack light and search all ends, One place can leave so much to see, And travel with your friends, Travelling as a loner, Can surely lead to fun, Thoughts race around like homer, But sharing with no one, And at the cry of ‘namaste’, You’ll want to stay and roam, No matter what your head will say, Loved ones still draw you home, And sometimes on a city walk, You'll find out what you need, To have someone to laugh and talk, Let them go take the lead, To travel you will see some sights, Nature still sits up high, But next time in the city lights, Think how the world goes by, To travel can help find one’s self, Travelling old and young, But in a city packed so full, Be two and not just one.
