Biography

Maaya Dev is an Indian based poetess and an economics graduate. Poetry is her passion and she feels it is to be highly cathartic. Her wagon wheel of poetry just keeps revolving 360 degrees following the nature’s protocol and principle of indiscrimination. She is a word smith wearing multi feathered cap. Her poems have found place in several national and international anthologies and journals like Episteme, Criterion, Anthesis, Eternal, Wings, Forever, Change, The Significant Anthology, Aquillerelle Wall of Poetry Book 5 and upcoming anthologies Maginitute- The awakening of Nepal, Umbilical Cords, Kaafiyana. She is a winner of Delhi Poetry Challenge – Kaafiya Contest 2015, a short story winner # 11 Season 1 at StoryMirror. She is a contributor at many sites like Muse India, Boloji, Learning & Creativity, Cafe Dinssensus, Rate My Literature, Saliz Magazine and many reputed poetry sites. She handles a monthly poetry column ‘Tossed Pebbles’ at B’khush, an ezine. She is also conferred with few awards during 2014-12015 ‘Faith Centred Poet, Poet of the Month, Monthly and Bi Monthly Critic Awards at ICOP: ROLL of Honour at Destiny Poets UK(An International Community of Poets). Desert Rose In the desert of the mind Bare and brown thoughts spread as sand dunes. Dry ocean waves trying to dissolve its colour in vain. At times, Silent whispers escape with despair to an unknown horizon that carts secret seeds of dreamy prairies. At times, off seasonal twisters trigger emotional storms and swipes life clean with its harsh swirl. Despite its hostility a heavenly aquifer having a fairy simper permeates soft vapour that is hidden deep beneath in the layers of cold desert. With sacredness heart promise its essence that helps in germinate a unique ‘Desert Rose’ that blooms and never withers while withstanding all kinds of insane desert storms…
