Where Is Your Mind

You want to change me to become the fantasy that is build up in your mind How can my roots be twisted this bad because I am a man with two different sides? Mixed cultures do not always bring you diversity and more love I have my Mexican traditions alive and burning in this heart and soul My white father pretended to love a Mexican woman and her brown family Acted as if his racism was never present throughout our life He hated my older brother with an underlined hidden passion Stripping his clothes off and tossing him outside the house into the bitter cold Just another damm spic was what he was to our white daddy Mom was another slave to sex and to control as he was taught in the Midwest Couldn't you see that you were just a fool trying to love a lifelong street addict? An addict hooked on drugs to deal with a life that his Caucasian family gave him No mother needs to keep a man that does not claim their firstborn Didn't you shed any tears when daddy knocked my brother into the closet doors? Remember when he died and did not have a father to say good-bye How loved did you feel then?
