Biography

I'm just someone who really, really wants to write.

Samples

The world around moves on and on Indifferent, as time goes by; Day turns to night, dusk to dawn While I sit here, and look at the sky. Wars are waged, battles declared Villains conquer, as heroes die. Someone, somewhere, is cold and scared, But I sit here, and look at the sky. Things are lost, and found again. Hello waits to become goodbye As little girls fall for strange big men, I sit here and look at the sky. Bright days of sun fade out to black, With promises made of an eye for an eye, Barbarically, they fight and fight back, But I sit here, and look at the sky. The sky’s exquisite – big and blue, And sees it all, in little bits It tells me things of which I haven’t any clue While I sit here and look at it.

And you really, really must write, about anything and everything, long ones, short ones, funny ones, sad ones, personal ones, social ones, etc. and etc. Be sure to keep a special 'notebook'. Read a lot of other people's works too, here on WOL, and even in books, from all countries and periods. Books still have a lot to offer; they haven't quite passed on like dinosaurs.

Welcome to WOL. Enjoy blogging and reading our poems, and commenting too.

Your poem on this page is really fine, full of extensive awareness and thought, just what a poet must have.
