Biography

I have written poetry for many years and have a poetry blog at https://whileiwalk.wordpress.com/. My poetry mostly explores the irony found in life. I spent the past three years writing my book 'Finding After', which is available on Amazon at https://a.co/d/2yOTXQm. The book uses a combination of artwork and poetry to tell the story of the recent pandemic with emphasis on our relationship with ourselves, others and nature.

Hiding The tree had stood there a hundred years or more, It would be there after, had been there before, And the axe came down, cut away at the tree, So that its thick trunk was one metre, not three, And the gnarled branches that curled this way and that, Grown out of years on which lost memories sat, Were removed so that the surface was smooth, new, Mirroring trees nearby to similar hue, And its towering height was altered as well, So that it’s wonderful age you could not tell, And she wondered why do this blasphemous thing, To beautiful tree which had looked like a king, And which now resembled the younger trees there, Which did not take so much of the space and air, And off she went to botox her wrinkled face, And dye her hair and vanish all etched trace, Of the days she had lived in her age of old, As that was not the story she wanted told.
