The Great British Bake Off

Tarts filled with jam are lovingly baked
Honey is drizzled and reputations are staked
Eggs by the dozen are beaten to a pulp

Gingerbread creations just make you gape and gulp
Round cakes and long thin slices are expertly made
Eager contestants enter the famous marquee, some fail to make the grade
Artistic creations are lined up to tempt the judges eye
Twelve bakers battle for the crown, armed with flour, butter and food dye

Bread rises to perfection and emits a gorgeous smell
Rose petals placed as a decoration says that all is well
Icing bags are filled to the brim ready to be piped
Tasks done for the day, everything is washed and wiped
Impressing the judges is the aim, they are Hollywood and Berry
Sue and Mel are a double act, entertaining and so merry
How I wish to be a master baker and create amazing things

Bread and cakes and tarts and buns with delicate butterfly wings
All the bakers get on so well, there never is a food fight
Kings and queens of the kitchen, they are an awesome sight
Early exits are always hard when you want to win the crown

Over baked or a soggy bottom make Mary Berry frown
Final fling for the Beeb before it moves to four
Fame and fortune await the winner, open some champagne and start to pour
