Also WOL TV/Radio -- any poets signed up for the wifi camera phones? Vodaphone are pretty hot for this (although the phones appear to have a number of the advertised functions disabled) making live transmission possibe: or record using digicams/videos MP4 and set up accounts through Itunes/Democracy Internet TV going via BloggerTV/Feedburner to create the necessary RSS. Easy enough to do audio for this -- via minidisc, Audacity, Drooble, MP3 etc. Sure someone knows the technology sufficiently to get this up and running?Mutantmedia may also be able to host via their 'audiogroup.' Just an idea...

Pete Crompton

I had an idea for over stressed / busy / forgetfull types like me

How about a text system to remind of WOL events / gigs?

You subsribe to the particular gig and will be sent a text reminder on the day.

This would also raise funds for WOL as you could set a rate say 50p or £1 per reminder. I would use it anyway!

They use the system on 'www.thetrainline.com'

thats where I nicked the idea.

A true genius hides his sources as theres nothing new under the sun

Thanks for those great ideas Moxy and Peter. There was some of that sort of stuff in our original bid to the arts council, though that was a while ago now. I lke all these ideas, especially the mobile phoney bits.
We are, with Peter's help, going to try a simple experiment of a live video link between the Poetry night at The Cambridge Arms in Bordeaux, and the one at the Howcroft, which happens to be on the same night - 21st October.
It could be like the Eurovision song contest: Hello Iceland. We give The Howcroft nul points...
Or like kids using two tins and a piece of string: Well, we can see you but not hear you. Oh that's my Marcel Marceau poem.
It's enough to get Goonhilly down.
We were hoping to get it live on the website, but I believe that is too ambitious - can't get enough tins. But we could put it on as a vidcast.

Good Morning

It wouldbe good to have an advice column where other poets could pass on their experiences and proffer solutions.

The only thing that would need to be done would be to set one topic per week. set onto the discussion board. The nxt week another problema fellow poet has experianced. If you put a link to the previous weeks problem onthehome page then previou weeks problems could be accessed by anybody who hits the site

I have found from day 1 all thepatrons on this site more than helpful. so if a problem is being experienced by one then it is going to be the same for others. From this rotating 'problem page' good ideas for WOL may grow.

cheers phil
