Obsessive Ex

You love me, I don't.
I'm sorry I don't.
Why do you love me so much?
I will never know.
3 months was nothing,
but to you it was infinity.
Crazy boy get over me.
It ain't worth the fightin.
For a year or two cut me off.
You will be better off.
I'm not the best, so fly to the west.
You got this, don't give up.

That's love isn't it? Should we measure the importance of love by how long the relationship lasts? But this is an interesting look at how one person's (lack of) self esteem and the care they still feel towards the person who will not let them go. Thanks for sharing.

Suki,

It's not about lack of self esteem but it's being annoyed by someone that is really obsessed with you, too obsessed that it becomes creepy. Yes, that may be love at times but not to the extent of creepy and obsessive. But thank you for your response. ?

Ah sorry I misunderstood slightly. But it works as a poem. I hope others here get to read it. It might be worth submitting in the regular poetry blog section. Anyway, many happy returns to you. Suki

I can relate to this piece because I too had an ex who became obsessed with me. It even got to the point that he would sit outside of my grandparents home and wait for me to go there and try to speak with me. During the relationship, he was very mean. He tried to isolate me from my family and friends. I can relate very deeply to the part where you said "get over me" because at one point I found myself pleading with my ex to leave me alone and get over me.
