Not sure about where exactly you want to travel, but there is the First Thursday at Linghams bookstore, Heswall. Starts at 7:30 (1st October) I think and has an entrance charge of around £4. Beware it is more focused on listeners than readers.

I think that it all in this week, I may be wrong but I think that the monthly event in the Boot in Chester has been and gone for September.

Not to sure about further afield than Chester/Wirral/Liverpool
