Its Raining Again

Its Raining Again

I am fed up to the back teeth with this persistent rain.
The summer `s nearly over and its per - sissing down again.
The length and breadth of England is flooded year on year.
Thinking of the damage fills my heart with fear.
The rivers burst, the drains block and the sewage overflows,
And soon the air is rank with smells that infiltrate your clothes.

The weather men and women are always on the news,
We listen, watch and wait, for any little clues
That the day will be much better and the sun will shine.
Or at least an indication that the day will turn out fine.
We pray that this dreadful rain will stop,
But it hasn’t happened yet, so we mop until we drop.

They analyse weather patterns, put forth their views.
But nothings different and they never change their cues,
But contemplate, why a deep depression is settling in the west.
That extensive flooding will put us to the test.
The Summer was atrocious and the Winters are so mild,
The world’s weather patterns are unpredictable and wild.

We must reduce, our carbon footprint, to save the planet earth .
To use less energy, feel that re-cycling has worth.
They point to global warming as the cause of all our pain.
We listen daily to their forecasts, but it`s often in vain.
We all must do what we can and hope that it`s enough,
Otherwise our future weather is going to get rough.

So recycle and cut down on waste, be diligent, aware
That if we all do our bit and show the world we care.
Others may follow suit and help to save our earth
So give some thought to what you think, our planet`s really worth,
Spend a moments of your time and think what you can do.
A little effort will prove beneficial to our future and to you.
