Being the last person on a discussion thread

Being the last person on a discussion thread can be a bummer. You have to look at your name for weeks - months even - until someone starts a new thread in that section. Like a butterfly pinned up in a collection, or a museum exhibit. Is there some way that dead threads can be archived, leaving an invitation to visit the archive for that section? It might lead to people going through old threads more - there's all sorts of fascinating stuff in there.

I've been the last person on a discussion thread a few times and it does make you feel like you are the kiss of death! Then I decided that it is just that what I wrote was so utterly brilliant that nothing else was needed! But then I am the mistress of self delusion! AND if no one else comments on here after me I'm going to cry!

This discussion thread has an hour-glass/reversal app which means that the whole listing is now turned upside down. Yes, the bible was the first listings to have a flip-over hour glass function, hence the app (NewTestament) being named 'The First Shall Be Last & The Last Shall Be First.'

Rachel Bond

the one time i joined in a discussion i wrote a poem for it especially, added some thoughts, referenced further reading, suggested further reading and set it to a sound track...everybody ignored it completely. i thought this incredibly rude and this is my only post on forums since (apart from to thank gemma for a great night at middleton)
i wouldnt care if i were last on a list but to be overlooked is just insulting.

Oh Rachel, you are one of the most un-ignorable, un-overlookable poets on this site!
