The Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade (ICEX) and the Spanish Association of Publishers Guilds (FGEE) have developed the campaign America Reads Spanish, aimed to increase the use and reading of our language through thousands of libraries, schools and book stores in the US.

America Reads Spanish believes that the Spanish language will enhance the communication between cultures at a time when it is of utmost importance to understand and enrich everyone's perception of the global reality.

The Black Light Engine Room. Literary mag & live event based in Middlesbrough. The mag aims to give a focus for the best in North East art/poetry, while also publishing poets - both Name (Sheenagh Pugh, W.N. Welcome to Free Word, an international organisation dedicated to literature, literacy and free expression. With the help of Fritt Ord, a free expression foundation in Norway, and Arts Council England, Free Word Centre first opened its doors in 2009. It is now home to 6 Residents and over 40 Associates. Free Word is a charity, and it is with the generous support of trusts and individuals that we continue to explore the cultural and political power of words.

Free Word Centre hosts public events all year round, exploring issues in contemporary politics, literature and culture. The Indian King Poets, established in the 1990s as part of the year round literatue programme of The Indian King Arts Centre, a community arts centre in Camelford, north Cornwall, continues to meet on most Monday mornings from 10.00-12.30., with an evening off-shoot on Tuesdays from 19.00-21.00. Each session starts with writing, from a visual/aural or verbal prompt; discussion of that writing follows and the session ends with a close critical look at poems in progress brought by participants. Examination of different poetic form happens when interest/need demands.

What is Litfest?

Litfest develops writers, engages readers and audiences, and celebrates literary excellence. We do this through our annual literature festival which has been staged since 1978 and a range of other publishing, development and participatory projects that have positioned the organisation at the heart of Lancashire’s cultural and creative activity.

Literature Works is a registered charity, Arts Council National Portfolio Organisation, and company limited by guarantee set up to enable and nurture literature development activity in South West England: Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Somerset, Wiltshire, unitary authorities of Bath and North East Somerset, Bournemouth, Bristol, Isles of Scilly, North Somerset, Plymouth, Poole, South Gloucestershire, Swindon and Torbay.

Literature Works is the strategic literature development charity for South West England. We are a National Portfolio Organisation of Arts Council England.

Literature Works’ role is to fundraise for the Grassroots Literature Programme, a support and grant scheme providing small awards for literature activity across the region, and where possible securing funding for larger regional projects with delivery partners, advice, advocacy and partnership.

We also provide a central resource for literature in the South West region and support the wider literature sector through large scale research and evaluation and work as lead partner with Plymouth University on the Literature Fundraising Centre project.

Set up by T S Eliot and friends in 1953 ‘to propagate the art of poetry’, the Poetry Book Society is a unique poetry society, providing information, reviews and discounts on the best contemporary poetry for an international community of readers.

The Poet Selectors choose the best new poetry collection of the quarter, which is sent to full members as part of their membership. All members also receive the Bulletin, the quarterly review of new poetry, which contains the Poet Selectors' reviews of the Choice and Recommendations and the selected poets' comments on their own work.

Poetry Can was established in March 1995 as a registered charity aiming to encourage as many people as possible within the Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset and South Gloucestershire areas to get involved in poetry activity.

Poetry Can is still based in Bristol but now supports the development of poetry across the whole of the South West region.

The Poetry International Foundation is a literary organisation based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and encompassing a number of partner organisations worldwide. It aims to present quality poetry from the Netherlands and worldwide to an international readership, encouraging poetry translation, stimulating the international exchange of knowledge about poetry, and facilitating an international community of poetry readers.

The main activities of Poetry International are the Poetry International Festival, established in 1970, the Poetry International website and National Poetry Day in Netherlands and Flanders. The analogue archive of the Foundation is currently being digitised, and will be integrated with the material on the Poetry International website. The Foundation also participates in Netherlands-based projects such as education programmes and poetry awards.

Writers’ Centre Norwich (WCN) is a literary development agency based in England’s first UNESCO City of Literature, Norwich. WCN is passionate about reading, writing and literature in all its forms. Through working with readers, writers, schools, young people and communities WCN aims to encourage and develop the role of literature in people’s lives.

Writers’ Centre Norwich runs events and writing workshops year round, and a wide range of programmes which include writing development programmes, reading projects, peer-led conferences and projects within schools. Through the creative writing workshops and development programmes, WCN nurtures and supports writers at every stage of their career, providing opportunities and professional development within the literary sector.
