Middleton January 2011

Our new year in our new venue went off with a bang on Sunday night!

Although we had a relatively low turn-out of 16 artists and audience members; we all still enjoyed a wonderful evening of poetry in our own sound-proof and clean room and with a very nice and accomodating landlord.

'Des Lexic' performed a well-planned and executed guest slot and newcomer to WOL Middleton and to performing his work, Kealan Coady was a welcome addition to our night.

Feedback recieved on the night:

Positive: Poetry And Poets, good room, friendly staff, nice room and variety of poets, good craic, good night, cosy, good venue, good venue (again), the usual good time, all poems were good, no bad part, good night and great night.

Areas For Improvement: troubles with being too near to or too far away from the microphone, less tables, more intervals.

We can definately sort any microphone issues out and put it to a vote on wether to have two intervals and three halves (so to speak) but I'm not carrying any tables down those stairs!

Sorry I could not be there and well done to you all for making a positive move to t'Ring O'Bells. I remember that room from when my sister ran a folk club there in the 70s, oddly. Mike Harding regularly turned up, him being a Crumpsall lad and all.
