Broken Soul

Drawn-in face
Facial expressions non-existant
Zero affect

A blank space
Rampant emotions
Limited positivity

Lost in your own misery
Unwilling to feel
Thought process erased

Fear, anger, sadness, and exhaustion
Engraved on your face
Like writing on a tombstone

Words unspoken
Scream in silence
Completely secluded

Shadow of darkness
Confined to a cell
Cut off from light

Personal choices made
Thick walls built
Isolation preferred

Lack of passion and desire
Fear of death
Closed off to love and affection

Surviving with a broken soul
Is an existence
Not a way of life

I like the dark cage the words build as they progress. Very similar to the feelings of isolation and loneliness that come with social anxiety and depression.

Arihant Shrivardhan

Those days

I remember the days
when we were young and eccentric,
Our dreams knew no bounds
they were pure and unrealistic

We had each other
that's all we cared about,
and here we stand now
stuck in our daily whereabouts

We lived in an utopia
holding onto each other,
here we are now
competing and backstabbing one another

We grew we learnt
more like corrupted,
we grew apart and
the friendships and bondings erupted

I still look at each one of you
craving for those times,
When we were a unit,
you took one out
we fell and rose together!
