Steve Spence helps to organise events for the Plymouth Language Club, an informal group which puts on poetry events mainly at the Arts Centre. He has published two collections of poetry, the first, A Curious Shipwreck (Shearsman Books, 2010), was shortlisted for the Forward Prize best first collection. Limits of Control was published in 2011 by Penned in the Margins. His work has also appeared in several anthologies, including The Robin Hood Book, Smartarse, and In the Presence of Sharks. His reviews and poetry also appear in a variety of magazines and websites, including Stride and Tears in the Fence.
