Jazz up your poetry – a Write Out Loud creative writing and performing workshop in association with Kirklees Libraries and Marsden Jazz Festival.
A great chance to be inspired to write a poem and pick up tips on reading your work, perhaps to perform at this year's Poetry Jam. Led by Julian Jordon, founder of Write Out Loud, the UK’s biggest online poetry group, www.writeoutloud.net. All welcome.

Feedback from workshop attendees, passed to me by Diane Green, who funded the events on behalf of Kirklees Libraries Reader Development Service.
All the attendees loved the workshops and came along to the jam.
They are much encouraged and also 3 new people came along to the monthly write out loud poetry evenings. It is a popular and growing movement- the open mic poetry.
A thoroughly enjoyable and worthwhile session. Really enjoyed Julian's approach to creative writing and made a huge difference to personal self confidence and ways of presenting ideas. Wish it was running for a few weeks more.
Very enjoyable evening, humorous and lively and encouraging.
Very stimulating-turned some expectations upside down.
Went away with lots of ideas. Would like some serious stuff too in the future.
I wish the workshops could have gone on until at least Christmas.
Really enjoyable, friendly and extremely useful. Julian's enthusiasm has been inspirational.
I have been encouraged to read my poetry before an audience which I would never have dreamt of doing before.
It has been great to have a go at something new and to learn that writing a poem is not as daunting as I thought: good value, cool poems, interesting characters.
